Blue Ember iQue, the lowercase i means it’s good

This is, without question, one of the coolest grills I have ever seen.  It’s computer controlled, has a built in light, built in bottle opener, heck it even includes an infrared rotisserie burner.  Read on to find out more about this grill of the future.

First off I have to admit I’m a sucker for computer controlled anything, I know this often means yet another system to fail or perhaps it’s overly complicated but it’s a freakin computer on a grill, how awesome is that.

Using the built in computer you can easily set the grill to pre heat, sear a steak on one side and grill off some veggies on the other.  The touch control system allows you to adjust and cook with your grill very similarly to how you already control your oven.  With two completely separate temperature zones, getting the entire meal done at once should be no problem at all.  It also features probe cooking which allows the user to simply select the type of meat, their preferred doneness, then just sit back and wait for the grill to tell you when it’s done.  Don’t want a computer telling you what to do?  This bad boy even lets you switch it off and grill old school, well at least as old school as non-computer controlled gas grilling can get.

iqueinfrared

The main grilling surface gives you 650 square inches of cooking surface, the warming rack adds another 225.  There are four independently controlled 14,000 BTU burners, a 12,000 BTU Infrared Rotisserie Burner and even a 11,000 BTU Cast Brass side burner.  That’s a not to shabby 79,000 BTU’s of cooking power at your disposal.  The cooking surface itself is porcelain coated cast iron which means it should be good at retaining the heat and prove to be fairly easy to clean.  To make sure there is never a beerless moment while cooking the cart has a built in bottle opener, there is even an ice bucket and condiment tray.  The cabinet also includes 2 pull out drawers and interchangeable shelf inserts.  The rotisserie kit is included with the grill (on most grills this is an optional accessory).  To me, the best feature is what Blue Ember describes as SonarQue, this system will display on the screen exactly how much gas you have remaining in minutes.  That my friends is worth the price of admission, no more guessing if you will have enough gas to complete the meal.  For someone like me who likes to slow cook meats on the grill, for hours, this is a true life saver (well for gas grills at least).  With a street price of just $899.99 this grill represents a real bargain in the grill market when you consider the features you are getting.  The catch will be the build quality, while it certainly looks the business a grill can really fall down fast if it’s not built to handle the stress of an outdoor grilling carrier.  Check it out at Blue Ember Grills.
