I have to admit the fryer in the Flavourgasmic kitchen gets used quite a lot. Lets face it deep fried food tastes yummy, not to mention that it’s hard to beat a deep fryer for a perfectly crunchy golden brown crust on foods like fried fish, tater tots, and chicken wings. Unfortunately most deep fryers (ours included) look like metal shoe boxes and get quickly stored away with not in use. Kalorik and designer Neil Currie hope to change the way you look at deep frying, literally! Hit the link for more.

Part bug zapper, part porch light, but all cool the Kalorik Deep Fat Fryer with Removable Bowl (isn’t that a catchy name) is different from most fryers by virtue of its heat resistant see-through glass bowl. For the first time that I can remember you can now watch your food as it’s frying, how fun is that? It features stainless steel guard rings and a clear polycarbonate shield so you don’t burn your nose while pressing your face against it to get a better look. The bowl is also removable for easy cleaning. Outside of the clear bowl it’s a pretty standard 2qt deep fryer, with folding basket handle, control light and temp control up to 375 degrees F. Available now at most stores for $129.99.

Did I detect you mentioning Tater Tots? Surely the Flavourgasmic Thesaurus must have some other word(s) that would describe the culinary phenom know as “tater tots” to everyone south of the Mississippi??????
Ooops, my bad I meant small potato pom-pom croquettes.
