How to handle the heat…

ovensuit

I hate oven mitts, there I said it.  They always seem so unweildy, at times I even feel more dangerous wearing them than I do without, burns and all.  Since people keep telling me how important skin is I guess I have to come up with something.  One option is to wear a full protection suit like the ones in the picture, these would allow you to actually crawl into the oven with your food and hang out while it’s cooking, unfortunately this would require you to get a larger oven.  Another option may be two new oven mitts from Built, continue reading to find out more.

 renzo-oven-mitt

This my friends is the Renzo Oven Mitt, this ambidextrous bad boy is made from neoprene (think wet suits) and is able to withstand temperatures up to 500F.  So why does this interest me?  Well first off it looks the business and is available in four colors (yes I’m a bit vain) but more importantly being made of neoprene Built states that this mitt will fit like a glove.  This promises to be an oven mitt that will still let you play the delicate game of operation while wearing, the best part is that the price of admission is only $15.00.  Oh but wait dear viewers it gets better… with this!

arlo-oven-mitt

Meet the Arlo, just the meanest mother of an oven mitt ever unleashed on an unwitting populace.  What makes it awesome sauce?  Well, in addition to all the same features as the Renzo this mitt protects all the way to the elbow!  Perfect for BBQ duty, oven duty, and just about any other high heat duty I can think of.  Ever need to save a baby from the back of an oven but your craptacular oven mitt let you down?  Have no fear, with the Arlo your arm will be safe and so will the children.  The real mind blower to me is the Arlo is only $3.00 more than the Renzo, yep for $18.00 you can finally put your mitts around the human torch without fear of blisters.  I will be donning these soon and hopefully I will not be disappointed.
