I know I sure do, and thanks to Sur la Table I can even drink from this perfect shape with their Hourglass Beverage Jar. Just in time for summer festivities you can now serve up your favorite alcoholic beverages (OK so I guess non-alcoholic would work too) with class. Featuring a large 2 gallon capacity go ahead and get the entire party drunk serving up lemonade and vodka, orange juice and tequila or perhaps a nice sangria. With the pour spout even people who are two pitchers to the wind will be able to continue serving. Hit the link for some accessories.

Also available from Sur la Table to complete your Hourglass serving set are a Hanging Beverage Jar Sign and a Hourglass Beverage Jar Stand. The hanging sign is nothing more than a mini chalk board that allows you to inform your guests of what delectable drinks await them. Being easy to wipe clean it also means that everybody’s favorite party trickster will be able to mislabel the drinks leading to hysterical and hopefully sexy consequences. The hourglass beverage jar stand allows you to lift your beverage jar off of the table making sure that your shorter friends will once again feel like you hate them. Either that or it will make it easier to get glasses under the spigot of the jar. The jar and stand are available now exclusively at Sur la Table for $60.00 and $17.00 respectivly. The sign will be available 7/6/2009 and will set you back $6.00 when available. If like me you are tired of being the only one at the party with an hourglass figure, you can’t go wrong.

Most people know the Bundt pan, what most people don’t know is that the Bundt pan is a registered trademark of Nordic Ware. Despite the Bundt pan, introduced in 1950, being the iconic piece of bakeware that Nordic Ware is known for, the pan was not introduced until 4 years after they began. Nordic Ware started in 1946 and sold ethnic bakeware such as the Ebleskiver Pan, Krumkake Pan and the Rosette Iron. Not from St. Olaf? Then hit the link for more info.

Æbleskiver or Ebleskiver, in Danish means apple slices and is a traditional Danish pancake dish. Made into spheres, they are often stuffed with either fruit or cheese. Of course to make them one must have a proper Ebleskiver pan, and Nordic Ware has you covered. Their 9 in. Ebleskiver pan allows you to prepare 7 Ebleskivers at a time, perfect when you need to keep people entertained during tales of the great herring wars.

Krumkake or Krum Kaka, means bent or curved cake in Norwegian. Traditionally made during Christmas season the Krumkake is a waffle cookie made from flour, eggs, sugar, and cream. As it turns out to properly make one you must have a Krumkake pan and guess what? Yep, Nordic Ware has you covered again with their 5 ¼ in. Krumkake pan which works on either electric or gas stoves and includes recipes for Krumkaker and a rolling cone. Normally filled with multekrem (a type of whipped cream) they are perfect to serve at the St. Olaf Butter Queen pageant.

Rosettes are a deep fried Scandinavian cookie similar to a funnel cake. To make a rosette you first need a Rosette Iron, Nordic Ware fortunately has you covered (bet you didn’t see that coming). These intricately designed irons are first heated to very high temperatures before being dipped in to the cookie batter. The batter coated iron is then re-immersed into hot oil and then immediately removed and the rosette is separated from the iron. The rosette is then dipped in either frosting or sugar. It’s the perfect snack while watching herring being shot out of cannons at the herring circus.

Whether you prefer Ebleskiver, Krumkake, or even Rosettes Nordic Ware can handle all your baking needs.

Hello and welcome to Flavourgasmic your one stop shop for culinary adventure. Over the coming months we hope to bring you into our world of food, kitchen gadgets, and restaurants. Hit the jump for a little info on the hosts…

Me (Brian): What can I say, I like to explore the world of cuisine, I’m a culinary explorer, but that doesn’t mean I rough it (I guess that’s what I can say). I like to combine the latest techniques, gadgets and skill with a touch of old world flavour and flare. I like restaurants that give me something I’ve never had before or in a way I’ve never experienced.

Katt: I suppose you could call me Brian’s culinary first mate. I may not be the one to blaze new trails in my cooking but my passion is in redefining the classics. Classics to me range from a twist on French cuisine to elevating simple pub grub to a new and exciting place. As an avid world traveler I believe that a regions food and flavours can transport you back to another time and place. Cooking is my way to take you on a journey with me, and eating is a way for me to see where other chef’s have been and want to share.
